Pam Benson

Founder of Jack’s Legacy, had her humble beginnings in Dayton, OH. From there she ventured to Columbus to pursue her education, including a Bachelors of Arts degree from The Ohio State University followed by Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School.

After receiving her Doctorate, Pam was hired by the federal government Department of Defense as a trial attorney. She represented the government’s interests in protecting our country’s national security and safeguarding classified information. In 2017, she was selected to become a Federal Administrative Judge for the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals, where she continues to serve today.

Pam found love while in law school and got engaged to her fellow classmate and now husband, Bill Benson. The two had four children together, Jack being the oldest followed by Shane and then twins Alyssa and Deacon. Jack’s story would impact their lives forever and shape the passions of their future. Jack graduated from the University of Cincinnati in December 2017 and was well on his way to establishing a promising future when tragedy struck. In October 2018, Jack purchased a recreational drug off the street that was laced with a lethal dose of fentanyl and he passed away. Pam and the family wanted to honor Jack in a meaningful way by providing hope and support to others similarly situated with substance issues. The Benson family live on a beautiful horse farm in Blacklick, Ohio. It soon became apparent that the route to honor Jack was to start a nonprofit corporation called “Jack’s Legacy” that would provide equine-assisted services to other young individuals struggling with substance abuse. The Bensons and the rest of the team have seen the deep connection and healing that can come from horses and have no doubt that astounding life changes can come from Jack’s Legacy.
